Clearly lost in the music, Eartheater even pantomimed the swirling of a wine glass, mirroring one of the motifs from the song’s stunning music video directed by Andrew Thomas Huang.Ībout halfway through the set, a fan shouted up from the crowd to compliment the artist’s look (she wore quilted black pants and a matching jacket lined with fur). Saavedra’s drums particularly brought the song to life, lending it a rollicking, almost trip-hop beat. The rest of the night was essentially a rundown of “Powders,” a sultry performance of “Crushing” being a major standout. You needn’t look further than the on-stage stool that held only a bottle of water and a sweaty glass of red wine with ice cubes. She has the charm of a girl you knew in high school who did some music on the side totally genuine and effortlessly funny, if pointedly unpolished. Lamenting the cold weather, she said she’d planned to wear something much more revealing, a trademark of her femme fatale aesthetic. She slunk around the stage with the same allure that makes her music so irresistible.Īs the song ended, Eartheater went away to reveal Alexandra. Joined by multi-instrumentalist Pablo and drummer Chloe Saavedra, Eartheater’s vocals translated beautifully from the album’s hyper-produced sound. The opening strings of Eartheater’s “Sugarcane Switch” began in the dark, until the album cover of “Powders” was projected on a screen at the back of the stage. Concrete Husband’s mélange of styles proved to be a perfect complement to the main event.įollowing the intermission, the lights dimmed. The sold-out venue, populated by avant-garde hats, huge thrifted pants, video game tees and monochromatically dressed retirees alike, gleefully hooted and danced along to the opener. The artist’s expansive sound and shockingly expressive flute made for an oddly moving performance, whose cinematic grandeur felt at home with more dance-forward tracks like “F**k Me in the Club.” The Brooklyn-based DJ and producer hit the stage with only a flute, switching between two microphones, one upstage and the other down. The night began with a 40-minute uninterrupted performance by Concrete Husband, a fellow experimentalist whose sound wavers between nightmarish techno overload and new age serenity. The first show of the east coast leg was held at The Sinclair in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the concert was as odd and unforgettable as the music itself. ![]() Just over a month after the release of her latest album, “Powders,” Eartheater has hit the road, taking her unmistakable style to venues around the world. ![]() So, your patience will be required on that front please!īetween now and November 6th we’ve got a lot to talk about – and there are some things I get to share today (such as the time of release mentioned above!) Save Game Compatibility: Continuing your journeys to gloryīack in June, I was delighted to let you all know that FM24 would include one of the most requested features over the last 20 years - the ability to transfer saved games from one edition of FM to the next. While we can announce FM24’s release date, I can’t confirm a date or time for the Early Access period in advance as we’ll literally roll it out when we believe it to be ready. This period will start roughly two weeks before the final game is released. As things stand, it’s looking possible for all formats to come out at this time globally – if that changes, we’ll let you know via our social channels.Īs has been the case for a few years, we will be releasing an Early Access version of the PC/Mac game to those who pre-purchase from participating digital retailers. So, this year we're trying something different, and are being clear with both the date and time of release. Having done this a few times has led to people expecting it - and filling our social feeds with questions about when the game was going to be available - frustrating for you, and frustrating for us. Typically, the advertised release date for FM games has been a Tuesday and, in some years, we have released at midnight in the UK. So, why are we launching on a Monday, rather than the more game industry standard of Tuesday or Friday? In addition to the above, there will be further FM24 Touch platform information released in the next few weeks. ![]() Football Manager 2024 Mobile (iOS/Android via Netflix) – more on that later.Football Manager 2024 Touch (Nintendo eShop) – from 4pm GMT.Football Manager 2024 Console (Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Xbox Game Pass) – from 4pm GMT.FM24 (Steam/Epic/Microsoft Store/Xbox Game Pass for PC) – from 4pm GMT.If you haven’t seen it, make sure to check it out below.įM24: Approaching our launch in a brand new wayĪs well as talking about the themes of our forthcoming feature announcements, we confirmed on September 12th that on Monday, 6th November, we will be releasing FM24 across all the platforms below: We’re really pleased to have released our Football Manager 2024 announce trailer, which outlines some of the themes that we’ll be talking about a lot more in the coming weeks. In this blog, I’ll be talking about what happens next with the rollout of FM24’s features as well as some new partnerships which will benefit both this year’s release and future titles beyond. ![]() As a big fan of certain TV shows that are full of community ‘theory forums’, I’ve always enjoyed speculating with other people’s work, but always find it a bit odd with our own work, despite the fact that players being excited to get their hands on more information is probably the most gratifying thing that can happen for our team! We hope we got the balance right and the feedback we received means further transparency with today's blog and more to come in the future. When writing blogs like that one, it’s always difficult to find the right balance between trying to be transparent and being careful not to talk about things too early. It was great seeing so many people talking about the future potential of the Football Manager series on our forums and social media. If you can't quite grasp the wonders of an unimpeded curl toward the basket, there are a number of individual plays you can fall back on to help you thrive in a two-man game. If things start to get bogged down, your coach will yell out helpful advice from the sideline, making sure you run the offense the right way instead of repeatedly getting into one-on-one situations and ending up with poor shots. But once things click, it's a joy to run your offense through the high post, hit cutters racing to the basket or spot-up shooters getting open outside the arc. Without an interactive tutorial to guide you through the subtle differences between the Princeton and Flex offenses, it can take a bit of practice before you figure out which way the ball should rotate and how best to attack. There are a number of unique motion sets to work out of, and these give you a smooth, free-flowing take on the sport, with lots of screens and quick passes to keep defenses off balance. The offensive structure in college basketball is a little more fluid than in the NBA, and this slight difference is captured well in the play calling for NCAA Basketball. Despite a lack of modes and a strong feeling of deja vu, this is a well-made and exciting basketball game for those who love the collegiate experience. Unlike Live, you cannot take control of your favorite player in pick-up games with friends, so you're limited to the standard five-on-five action. Furthermore, NCAA is a little stripped down in comparison. Although this is largely a good thing, considering that Live is a fun and accurate representation of the real sport, NCAA feels a little too familiar for those who have already shown off their skills on the virtual court. The teams are obviously different, and the players are represented by numbers rather than their birth names, but the on-court action is nearly identical. This imitation is fully realized in NCAA Basketball 10, which plays almost exactly like NBA Live 10. It makes sense that they would strive to mirror their high-profile brethren, given that the NBA has a much larger following, has more recognizable stars, and just loves giving out massive guaranteed contracts. ![]() Retrieved September 1, 2023.College basketball players frequently try to emulate the professional stars. They also make different sounds when they are excited or joyful. For example, goats snort-bleat to alert others to potential danger. However, the sounds vary depending on the message the goat is trying to convey. Inexperienced ears can think that all goat sounds are the same. The spelling of the goat sound varies from language to language. The sound of a goat is referred to as bleat or baa. If you want to figure that out, you’ll need a lot of experience with goat keeping. What Is a Goat Sound Called? – Some people believe that each goat’s sound is unique. “This was not extreme distress – I don’t think most people could tell the difference in their calls,” says Baciadonna. ![]() To get negative ones they let an animal see another being fed while not getting any food themselves, or kept one in isolation for five minutes. To elicit positive sounds, they recorded goats that could see someone approaching with a bucket of food. Luigi Baciadonna of Queen Mary University of London and colleagues recorded goats bleating in different emotional states to see how they are affected by hearing each other’s calls. When goats hear a series of calls that change in emotional tone, they look towards the source of the sound – and their heart-rate readings indicate the animals’ own emotions are swayed by the noises. Goats reveal their feelings with the sound of distinctive bleats Expressive bleats Brian Squibb “Maaah.” Goat calls, but the animals seem to recognise when one of their herd-mates is happy or sad from their bleats alone. To give you even more information as you decide which breed is right for you, let’s take a look at the three noisiest goat breeds. While all goats can make noise, certain breeds are definitely louder or more vocal than others. However, goat vocalizations are closer to what’s called a ‘bleat,’ which is a sound also sometimes made by cows and deer. Well, goats make a ‘baa’ sound similar to the sound a sheep makes. 12/29/2023 0 Comments Invisible stitch hand sewing![]() With a bit of practice, you will soon have the ladder stitch mastered. Congratulations on creating a nice, tidy seam to close your project! Now, snip your threads, and you are finished. You can repeat this step if you wish to further reinforce the stitching. …and then pass the needle and thread through this loop and tighten and form a knot. To finish, use your needle to pick up a tiny section of the seam opposite where the thread emerges… When you reach the end of the opening, pull the thread to tighten the stitches, so that each of the connecting “ladder” stitches is magically concealed between the two sides of the seam. You will continue this process until you reach the end of your opening, creating a “ladder” of connecting stitches as you work. This helps ensure your stitching is even. Note how I pinch both sides together as I work to pull things nice and taught. Directly across from the point at which the thread emerges from the seam crease, make another 1/8-1/4″ stitch through the opposite seam crease: down, through, and up. The rest of the process is essentially a repeat of the previous step. When you pull the thread through, you will notice that the stitch you just made is concealed within the seam crease, and there will be a horizontal stitch connecting the left and right sides of your opening. Now, directly across from the point at which your thread emerges at your starting point, push the needle down and then back up through the opposite seam crease to create a stitch that is between 1/8-1/4″ long. The knotted end of your thread will now be nicely concealed within the seam on the inside of the project. Now, let’s stitch! Push your threaded needle up and through one of the folded seams, from back to front, and pull the thread tail completely through. You will use the creases of these folds to guide you as you sew. ![]() It is very important at this point to make sure the seam allowance at the opening is folded over and pressed very crisply. Next, grab any project with an opening that needs to be stitched closed, such as my pillow below. Stitching with two strands of thread will provide added strength to your finished seam. To begin, thread your needle, and tie the two thread tail ends together in a knot. If you ever have wanted to make a pillow but have been intimidated by the hand stitching involved, today’s tutorial for how sew a ladder stitch (sometimes called an invisible stitch or a blind stitch) will be invaluable to you! This hand-sewing technique really is very simple to execute, and with a bit of practice, it results in a nice, tidy seam every time.
